Cocktail Ice

Cocktail ice is packaged each day in retail 5 lb. bags and 30 lb. bulk bags. Our staff is always on call to help you determine how many pounds you need in order to ensure your drinks are crisp and cold. Brookline Ice suggests the following when figuring out how many pounds or bags to purchase.

Chilling Ice – 1 30lb. bag for every two cases of beverage (24 cans or bottles)

Drinking Ice – .75 – 1.50 lbs. per person (adjust number based on weather conditions, ie. 90 degree day in July at outside event; use 1.50 lbs. per person)

Bales

Bales are an industry term used to describe the packaging of retail bags of ice. Our bales comprise of 7 /5 lb. bags of ice. Many also refer to bales as cases or sleeves of ice. Brookline Ice 5 lb. retail bags can be found in convenient stores, liquor stores, supermarkets, yacht clubs etc.

Snow

Our 40 lb. bulk bags of snow are perfect for a raw bar set up or a seafood or meat display. Snow is a very fine ice often referred to as shaved ice.

Block Ice

A longer lasting chilling solution for ice cubes is the use of block ice. We have 25 lb. blocks available for pick up at our retail location. This block comes from a 300 lb. block which is cut up the old fashioned way with an ice pick and saw. Brookline Ice also produces an 11 lb. block which is perfect for the boating and yacht clubs. These blocks are packaged four to a bale.

Carving Bars

For those who wish to carve their own ice creations, Brookline Ice offers a 300 lb. carving bar. These bars are approximately 42 inches tall, 22 inches wide and 11 inches thick. Some people have even been known to put them in their pools during heat waves in the summer.

Cline Bells

Need an extra clear carving bar for that special art piece? Cline Bells are produced in a machine that creates an especially crystal clear bar of ice.

Dry Ice

Dry Ice is frozen carbon dioxide at a temperature of minus 109.3 degrees F or minus 78.5 C. This ice form is recommended for keeping items frozen when a freezer is not available. Dry Ice is used for shipping foods or even medical samples. Power outages usually result in numerous phone calls from supermarkets and restaurants requesting blocks of dry ice due to their walk in coolers and freezer being down.

Other uses for dry ice include creating a fog effect, school science projects, for traveling and many more uses as detailed on www.dryiceInfo.com .

When handling Dry Ice one must use extreme caution or contact with skin will freeze cells which causes injury similar to a burn. Those who handle dry ice should wear cloth or leather work gloves, oven mitts or even a kitchen or bath towel. Please remember always to protect your skin!

Insulated Shipping Containers

Brookline Ice stocks three different size insulated shipping containers. These containers include a cardboard box with a Styrofoam cooler inside. The sizes are as follows:

Ice Serving Bowls

A sparkling addition to any table. Display and serve your favorite cold foods or beverages in a unique and beautiful setting.

Imagine serving punch in an ice bowl which has roses or poinsettias, orchids or tulips frozen right into its crystal clear walls. The ice is so clear, your guests will assume it’s glass – until they touch it!! They will be amazed and delighted.

Six quart ice bowls are available in many designs with flowers, seashells, fruit, golf balls, and other items frozen inside.

Inexpensive and long-lasting, each ice bowl comes complete with a disposable drain tray and liner. Weighing only 65lbs, ice bowls are easily transported or shipped almost anywhere.

Ice Luges

Our standard ice luge is a rectangular shape that is approximately 40” long by 10” wide by 5” thick. There are two tracks on one side or you can flip it over and the other side has one central track. The sides generally have decorative cuts; however, we can personalize your luge with a short saying on the side for as little as $15. You should call a couple days ahead if you would like it personalized. The standard luges are kept in stock and you can come in and pick them up- no need to preorder. They are easy to transport, weighing only about 70lbs and packaged in an insulated bag. For larger events we can integrate a luge track into a larger ice sculpture.

Cool Coolers

Our Cool Coolers are both light weight and durable, allowing them to be easily transported. Made from wax coated corrugated cardboard, each cooler holds 36 - 30lb bags of ice with superior insulation to our plastic style cooler.
